Testing Shutter Speed

Shutter speed test from georgie wing on Vimeo.

The shutter speed on the camera determines how long the camera shutter remains open and allows light to enter the image. The default shutter speed in most moving image is 1/50 because the shutter speed should usually be double the amount of what the frames per seconds are. The human eye is used to seeing either 24 fps or 25 fps.
When I lowered the shutter speed on my camera to 1/30 I also kept to 24fps. Lowering the shutter speed to 1/30 meant that motion blur occurred and blurred my frames due to the shutter being open for longer.
When I set my shutter speed to 1/100 my frames looked sharp and crisp due to my shutter speed being a lot faster and letting less light into my frames.
